Dear tenants.

Today 30 december there was a fire in the basement at the Warande.  Firefighters have opened all the doors in the staircases for safety reasons.

Tonight all the broken font doors will be repaired. The room doors that got broken will be repaired as soon as possible but this can take a few days.

Due to the fire the television and the internet cables got severely damaged. Because of this Internet will not be available.  The relevant parties are doing everything they can to fix this or come up with an alternative.  Repairing this damage can take a few days.

Welcome to the Warande! You are an international student and you're probably wondering what this site is about since it is mainly in Dutch. Here's a short introduction on the residents association and what we do. We hope to see you soon at one of our activities! If you want to know more, ask your roommates or drop by on Thursdays in the Wombat for a beer! Also check the calendar or facebook for activities (you still might need to practice some Dutch though).

Residents association
We are the residents association 'the Warande'. We represent the local and international students and the people who are living on their own at our complex. We organise a lot of activities and services for convenience and fun! Check out the calendar or posters around the complex for up to date info.

Public transport
During the day busses 50,52,53 and 74 will take you to Utrecht. They run every 5-10 minutes or more during rushhours. During the night on Thursdays and Fridays there's a regular Connexxion nightbus, line number 412 until 5 o clock. On Saturdays line 450 runs until 4.00h

Wombat: party every Thursday and more
Every Thursdaynight from 21.00h until 01.00h there's a party at Warande 89s. Invite your friends or make some new ones! The Wombat is also the place where most of the other activities are being held; movie night, board games, etc..

We have some interesting services for people who need help. If something in your unit's shared rooms (toilet, kitchen, hallway and shower) is broken (like toilet seats, fluorescent tubes, etc..) you can get a new one from This email address is being protected from spambots.
